Summer Reading starts June 8th!!

Summer Reading launches on June 8th with an event in the Multi-Purpose Room at Dayton Elementary. Blue Mountain Wildlife will be present along with their ‘rescue raptors’ to talk about our local wildlife. The program starts at 3pm and is open to the public. Bingo cards for kids, young adult, and adults will be available for pick up at this event as well as at the library throughout the summer season. Summer Reading lasts through August 18th and grand prizes will be given out at the season ending party on August 25th 1-4 pm when we host a hands-on program from the Pacific Science Center’s ‘Science on Wheels’. The theme for Summer Reading is ‘Build a Better World” and on Wednesdays throughout June, July, and August there will be a kids program scheduled at 2pm that include a nature walk, vet science, scribble bots and more. Adult programs will be scheduled as well and we will have additional information on our website/Facebook page as we approach those dates. Summer Reading is always a big hit with kids and adults and the adults will be glad to hear that we have simplified your bingo card this year! We know how busy you all get in the summer and want to help you achieve your reading goals without stress. Again this year we have our amazing local donors that will be providing weekly as well as grand prizes for all age groups. So come to the Raptor event on June 8th to grab your Bingo Card or stop by the library on and after June 8th to pick up there. We are excited for another year of summer reading fun!
