Reconsideration of Materials
The Columbia County Rural Library District welcomes feedback from patrons, community members, and others regarding its collections and services. Those wishing to express concerns about library materials, services, or events are invited to complete a “Request for Reconsideration of Materials” form available at the library. Once this form is submitted, it is the Library Director’s duty to review and evaluate the materials and the issues raised and provide a response in a timely manner, usually within a week. I am also happy to meet with anyone regarding any aspect of the library’s materials, programs, and services. Just call the front desk at 509-382-4131 to schedule an appointment.
Prior to submitting such a request, patrons and other community members are encouraged to read, “Why are These Books in My Library?: What Your Librarian Wants You to Know“, a list of frequently asked questions on this topic.
